Gear cover removed.
Rocker arm assemblies
removed.
General Safety Instructions
If engine has recently been in operation, allow
engine time to cool before performing procedure.

Removal.
NOTE
Hold adjoining gears to get a correct
measurement of backlash.

Measure camshaft gear (1) backlash at
position A. Normal measurement is 0.003 to
0.013 in. (0.08 - 0.33 mm). If above or below
normal measurement, replace gear.
