Remove the bronze bearing plate and the pilot ring from
the cylinder block. If the pilot ring remains with the
bearing plate, remove it at this time.
The tapered bearing must now be removed from the
shaft. A bearing puller should be used that will pull
against the inner race of the bearing. A spacer is
required to protect the slot in the end of the pump shaft
from the puller screw. Protect the face of the cylinder
block during this operation.
After removal of the bearing, slip the spacer out of the
bore in the cylinder block.
Place the pump horizontally in preparation for removal
of the cylinder block assembly
