Post signs that read `NO SMOKING WlTHlN 50 FEET (15 m)' when working with open fuel, fuel
lines or fuel tanks.
Use caution when loosening intake fuel fittings. Fuel pressure is sufficient to penetrate skin and
cause severe injury.
FUEL INSPECTION
(1) Disconnect negative battery cable
(2) Set parking brake (2-13).
(3) Check sediment bowl for
contaminated fuel.
(a) If fuel is contaminated, drain and
flush fuel tank (pare 4-29).
(b) If fuel is OK, notify supervisor.
(4) Connect negative battery cable
